What’s your genre? Have you ever been confronted by this question and got confused? What do I enjoy? What if I don’t have any specific interest? What if everything I like is random and poles apart? Yes, I enjoyed ‘Kafka on the shore’ but couldn’t quite agree with ‘Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki’, might just re-read Harry Potter and get on with it.
If you find yourself in a similar stew then you are a bonafide Shrutopian! We are a no holds barred city that explores books from all walks of life. Though the alleys and sidewalks are now filled with a few different favourites of mine, we keep welcoming new inhabitants to our ever-growing metropolis. Cities are the melting pot of culture and so is Shrutopia where diversity is the king and books the face of it!
Meet Shruti

I am a teacher by day and a book animal by night or the rest of the daylight hours when I’m not pretending to be busy. You’ll always find me book-bosomed, generally with a new book in one hand and Harry Potter in the other. Moving over books, I enjoy waltzing around my city and visiting my favorite haunts, a causeway, a garden and a snack stall. Luckily for me, my college is situated at the very place where all these possibilities are right under my nose.
A brief hash of my career

I am a year out of finishing my masters in international relations and have since been freelancing as a lecturer in political science at Elphinstone College, Bombay. I love my work as it gives me the experience to face crowds with confidence and also because it helps me broaden my knowledge. You’ve got to study if you want to teach! The hours at college though very satisfying are too few to qualify all my time. I therefore, wanted to increase my productivity and started channeling my long dormant energies into creating this blog. I have previously worked with varied industries all which have been very diverse, from the film and media industry to bank and HR firms. I enjoyed every phase of my career, yet still sought my true calling, that’s when I was spurred to hop on to the blogging platform. This is where the next new phase of my life begins as a book blogger and I am enjoying every bit of it. Hope you do too!
